The Graco MetroLite stroller is designed to be used alone for a child up to 40 lbs., and can also be used for infants with all Graco SnugRide and Infant SafeSeat infant car seats (sold separately) up to the specified car seat child weight limit.  The advantage of using an infant carrier is that it can click lock into the stroller and be removed without disturbing your baby.  The baby is forward facing for both stroller configurations.
