The Combi Flare Travel System is a “make your own” travel system, consisting of a light weight Combi Flare stroller and a Combi Shuttle 33 infant car seat.  As a travel system, it is designed for a single child up to 55 lbs.  The Flare stroller is infant car seat compatible.  The advantage of stroller infant car seat compatibility is that the car seat has an infant carrier that can “click” lock into the car seat base or stroller and be moved from one to the other without disturbing your baby.  The stroller is forward-facing and rear-facing when used with the infant car seat.

Pros:

• Very light weight stroller at 11.7 lbs. and infant car seat compatible, which is a very nice combination.
• 5-point harness (not all umbrellas have this).
• The stroller height is good for taller users.
• Generous stroller canopy for an umbrella style stroller.
• Trendy looking.

Cons:

• Some users have had difficulty with the infant carrier base lock and release mechanism.
• Infant car seat does not have an infant head support.
• Stroller does not recline completely (although it is infant car seat compatible, which can be used while your baby is small).
• Some users find that the stroller is not very maneuverable.
• The infant carrier is 9.25 lbs., and for most will become very difficult to lift via handle by the time your child is ~20 lbs, so you may lose use of the carrier feature at that time (the car seat is rated to 33 lbs.).  This is not so much a con, as a note of consideration.
