The Britax Roundabout Convertible car seat is designed as a compact car seat that can be configured as rear-facing for a baby from 5 to 35 lbs., and forward facing for a child over 1 year of age and 20 lbs. up to 40 lbs or 40″.  The difference between this car seat and the Britax Roundabout 50, is that the Roundabout 50 is larger, heavier, has 4 harness slots up to 17” high, multiple crotch strap positions, and can accommodate a child up to 50 lbs. or 49” in height.

Pros:

• Compact design is fairly light weight, and very good for people with smaller vehicle seating areas.
• Very comfortable for baby.
• Good feature set.

Cons:

• Compact design means that your child may possibly grow out of this car seat early, requiring you to purchase another car seat (this is not so much a con, as a consideration of purchase based on financial situation, and your vehicle seating area, since some larger car seats now accommodate children up to 65 lbs.).
• Requires re-threading the shoulder harness positions as your child grows.
• Fabric cover is not machine washable.
• Doesn’t have multiple adjustable crotch strap positions (6.63 set depth).
