Baby Product Recalls and Warnings: Using RSS Feeds to Keep Up-to-Date with the CPSC
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has a great way to help you keep up to date with baby product recalls by providing RSS feeds that can be viewable on your own browser page. Baby product recalls or warnings may be aired news announcements, or you could periodically visit the CPSC website, but an RSS feed (instantaneous information delivered to you from the CPSC website) is a great way to feed the latest recalls to your own personal browser page.
On the CPSC recall search page under “RSS feeds for recently issued recalls”, there is an option to click on an RSS FEED button where you can select from the following web-based feed readers: myAOL, Bloglines, Google, My MSN, netvibes, NewsIsFree, Pageflakes, Technorati , or My Yahoo.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from thousands of types of consumer products. RSS feeds are available for all CPSC recalls or subcategories of recalls. In 2010, the CPSC has already issued warnings on sling carriers for babies, stroller recalls as well as other very important recall information that parents and expecting parents need to be aware of.
